Are you excited? We sure are! Full of positive excitement and ready to rock! Here are some last minute tips for the days before\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/helsinkicityrun.fi\/en\">Sportyfeel Helsinki City Run\u00a0<\/a>on Saturday!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t do anything new.<\/strong>\u00a0Race week isn\u2019t the time to try new shoes, new food or drinks, new gear, or anything else you haven\u2019t used on several workouts. Stick with the routine that works for you!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Get off your feet.\u00a0<\/strong>In the days before your race, try to stay off your feet as much as possible. Your goal is to show up on Saturday with rested legs and strong mind \u2013ready to run! We have a Shake out Run on Friday May 18th at 6pm if you want to join!\u00a020-30 minutes easy running might do good the day before the race. Check out more information here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1440882326016009\/\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1440882326016009\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u00b4t eat too big portions!\u00a0<\/strong>It\u00b4s important to\u00a0eat enough during race week but rather than devouring a gigantic bowl of pasta the night before the race, which could upset your stomach, try eating carbs in small increments throughout the day before the race. Eat carbs that work for you and your stomach!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember to stay hydrated during the race week.\u00a0<\/strong>Summer has arrived to Finland and the weather has been warmer lately. Start hydrating yourself properly already 3-4 days before the half marathon. Drink ca. 2 liters of extra fluids (for example water and sports drink) daily.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Get your race day gear ready well beforehand and check that you have everything!<\/strong>\u00a0The night before the race, lay out your clothes, and if you already have your bib, fasten it on. That\u2019s the one thing you need at the starting line. Don\u2019t show up without it! Also remember to take your energy gels with you if you are planning to use them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wear approriate clothing!<\/strong>\u00a0in case it\u00b4s going to be sunny and warm day, consider using some\u00a0sunscreen and wearing a\u00a0hat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Try to get enough sleep the night before. \u00a0<\/strong>You are probably feeling a little nervous and excited, but try to get enough sleep the night before the race day!
